You will need

French bread

Butter or margarine

Garlic salt

or

Hamburger and/or hot dog buns

Butter or margarine

Garlic salt

Shredded cheese (optional)

Making your own garlic bread is super quick and easy.  All you need to do is slice a french bread into thick slices, spread butter or margarine on one side of each slice and sprinkle garlic salt on top of margarine.  Put the slices back together into a loaf, and wrap the whole thing up in aluminum foil.  Bake in 300 degree oven for 5 to 7 minutes, and serve warm.

If you don’t have a french bread…

you can easily substitute leftover hamburger and hot dog buns.  Open the buns and place them soft side up on a baking sheet.  Spread with butter or margarine, and sprinkle garlic salt over the top.  Bake in 300 degree oven for about 3 to 5 minutes.  Bread will toast (and burn) very quickly on a baking sheet, so don’t leave it very long.  If you like, you can turn it into cheesy toast by sprinkling a little shredded cheese on each slice and putting it back in the oven until cheese is melted.
